I learned the art of piano tuning while studying piano as part of my college degree in music theory and composition during the late 1970’s and found that I had exceptionally accurate pitch sensitivity along with the patience and persistence required for this exacting and uncompromising craft. I’ve been tuning professionally since 1980 and have worked on tens of thousands of instruments in homes, recording studios and on concert stages across Southern California. Being a working musician and composer with deep understanding of the mechanical and acoustical physics underlying the production and propagation of Musical tones, I have consistently drawn praise for the finely detailed results of my efforts.

I’ve worked in many retail piano shops and have been trained in the specific techniques used by Steinway and many other popular manufacturers. I’ve known and worked with some of the best technicians in the world and learned their trade secrets.
